Founded in 1958 the IGFOA is the statewide association of government finance professionals. IGFOA provides leadership, education, professional development, peer support, and communication to advocate best practices and advance the competence and effectiveness of local government finance officers in Illinois. As an individual responsible for governmental fiscal policy and management, you’ll find that membership in the Illinois GFOA helps you to improve your knowledge, skills and performance, while offering you the high quality support on which today’s finance officer thrives. The IGFOA premiered its first podcast series that asked IGFOA leadership volunteers why they chose a career in government finance. The IGFOA Jobline is open to the public to view and post position announcements. Job postings are included in the IGFOA Weekly Newsletter, distributed via email to over 950+ members. The jobline gives government entities access to a diverse pool of qualified finance professionals looking to advance their careers in government finance. The IGFOA Professional Education Committee (PEC) provides technical, informational and skill-building courses widely recognized for quality, relevance to current needs and contribution to individual professional development. IGFOA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
